Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 near Vinci, in what is now the Italian region of Tuscany. Also, he painted the Mona Lisa which is housed at The Louvre. He painted the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. In addition, Leonardo’s most famous painting of the 1490s is “The Last Supper.” It was commissioned for the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria della Grazie in Milan. Also, he is an Italian polymath of the Renaissance whose areas of interest includes many things. Leonardo does invention, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, paleontology, and cartography. And, he is widely considered one of the greatest painters of all time. Sadly, perhaps only 15 of his paintings having survived.
