Verdejo Aromas, Tastes and Pairings

Verdejo wines are very aromatic and are great to pair with foods. Notice the flavors are fruity including lime which is the hallmark finish of a good Sauvignon Blanc. Pair it with anything you might put lime on. Try Chicken, Carnitas, Fish Tacos, Sole, Pork Loin, Sheep’s Milk Cheeses: Manchego, Pecorino and Feta. It works with spices like Tarragon, Cilantro, Basil, Parsley, Garlic, Ginger, Red Pepper Flake, Cayenne Pepper, Cumin, Coriander and Tamarind. Try it with Pine Nuts, Artichokes, Leeks, Shallots, Bell Peppers, Asparagus, Avocado, Arugula, Pineapple, Coconut, Mango, and Green Onion.

Rueda Wines

Verdejo wines are difficult to find so take what you can get. They are affordable between $10-$20. Also, they can be aged so buy it in a green bottle if you plan to do so. There are few people that can say they have tried a Verdejo wine.
